Queenie - out now on Channel 4

'Queenie' is a coming-of-age story about a British-Jamaican girl, Queenie Jenkins (Dionne Brown), 25, whose life in South London isn't exactly going the way she'd planned – in work or love. The series is an adaptation of Candice Carty-Williams' 2019 best-selling and British Book Awards-winning novel of the same title.

As the soundtrack and music score for 'Queenie' is an ode to South London, 45RPM's goal was to amplify the authentic sounds of Brixton, Streatham, Croydon etc throughout the entire series, showcasing current recording artists native to London (in particular black diaspora singers, songwriters and producers).

The show features an original score by Swindle and includes tracks from the likes of Brixton's very own Joy Crookes, Young T & Bugsey, nodding to culturally iconic music channel Channel U with the likes of 'Playground' by Fundamental.

Music supervision by Catherine Grieves and Beth Marshall
