A new immersive exhibition, Vogue: Inventing the Runway, has opened at Lightroom in London, exploring the history of the modern runway show. Spanning from the intimate couture salons of early 20th-century Europe to the mass-media spectacles of today, Inventing the Runway connects the past, present, and future of fashion.

45RPM's Sarah Bridge, Ayla Owen, Beth Marshall and Adriana Nicholls collaborated with Lucy Bright to co-music supervise this incredible new project. It features a vibrant and diverse musical landscape, seamlessly blending classical works by John Adams with the iconic pop of Lady Gaga and more. Across 35 tracks, the soundtrack weaves in everything from the experimental sounds of Oneohtrix Point Never, the rhythmic funk of Sheila E., and the soulful gospel of Pastor T.L. Barrett & The Youth For The Christ Choir, creating a rich, genre-spanning auditory experience.

The exhibition allows visitors to experience and interact with groundbreaking runway presentations like never before, set against the space’s stunning four-storey-tall walls. The exhibition blends our curation of classical and pop music with cutting-edge sound design and animation to bring iconic fashion shows to life at an unprecedented scale.
